Hi I'm Mac Matheson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 94 year old World War II Veteran, a radio operator and Aerial Gunnery Instructor. I have been married to the mother of our 7 children for 70 years. I have been a radio broadcast manager, an insurance salesman, and real estate agent. In retirement I have made 10,000 book bags for School Kits and 300 quilt tops for humanitarian services, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I know that its founder, Joseph Smith, saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ in a heavenly vision, and that he translated the Book of Mormon, another witness of Jesus Christ, thru the gift and power of the Holy Ghost. The keys of the Holy Priesthood of God have been restored in these latter days for the blessing and benefit of mankind, and those keys are held today by a living Prophet Thomas S. Monson. I have lived to see the LDS Church grow from a few hundred thousand members in the Mountain West to over 14 Million Members worldwide. It will continue to grow until the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached in all the world.

How I live my faith

I actively attend church weekly, have served in many capacities as a lay member, and continue to visit a few families as a Home Teacher, some of whom I have visited every month for 18 years. I served a two year proselyting mission in Great Britain before World War II. Presided over a Ward as a Bishop and as a member of a Stake High Council. I have worked many years at a computer, digitizing records from microfilm records to searchable data bases, including the Elis Island Passenger Records, and many Census Records. In addition I sew quilt tops for quilts that are distributed to the homeless and needy.
