Hi I'm Mike

I love the outdoors. I work in a fabric covered box. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona by a wonderful set of parents. I met my beautiful wife in our last year of college and promptly wooed, wed, and whisked her away to California to start my first real job in the Information Technology industry. After deciding the weather was just a little too perfect right next to the beach we've since returned to Arizona where we can suffer appropriately. In my spare time I love fiddling with computers, hiking new trails, and occasionally taking my mountain bike out for spin.

Why I am a Mormon

I make the choice to be a member of the LDS Church because of the influence of the Holy Spirit in my life as I try to live the principles that are taught there. I've seen the blessings that have come from following the teachings of Jesus Christ and know that He keeps His promises. I'm grateful for the strength that my faith in Him brings to my life and the help He gives me everyday. The teachings of the prophets from the Old Testament, to the New Testament, to our Living Prophets today have and continue to strengthen my faith by helping me learn more about Him and His plan for me. I'm particularly grateful for the Book of Mormon and the changes it helped me make in my life when I first read it as a teenager. The Spirit I felt as I read and prayed about it strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ and confirmed to me that Joseph Smith was one of his prophets, that the church he established is Christ's church today.

How I live my faith

My wife and I team teach a class of 7 to 8 year children each Sunday helping them understand different principles of the Gospel of Christ. It's an exciting age as children in the LDS Church are typically baptized at 8 years old and we have the privilege of helping them understand the promises they'll be making and the blessings they'll receive as they follow Christ's example.
