Hi I'm Kelsey

And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to have a good time and Laugh! Life is just no fun if there is nothing to laugh about along the way! I love to play basketball and volleyball. Snowboarding is a definite must in the winter time. I love to hip-hop dance and can beat box...yep that’s the life. I am the second oldest of 4 kids. Of my siblings I am the only girl. When it comes to playing with the boys I can hold my own. I had the opportunity of serving as a missionary for the church in Bacolod Philippines. I have a deep love for the Filipino people. While there I was able to pick up a few dialects along the way. I can speak Cebuano, Ilonggo, and kunti lang Tagalog.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon through and through because I believe in Jesus Christ. He lives. Because he lives I live for him. Christ has a church that he established on the earth, through Christ and his church we can return to live with our Father in Heaven and have eternal life. There is no other way. I believe that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ’s Church here on the earth. I have come to find this out through diligent study of the scriptures and prayer. The Spirit of God has rested upon me and bore powerful witness to my soul. I know it is true. Any seeker of truth can do the same and have the same witness. Being a Mormon and follower of Christ has brought me more joy and happiness than imaginable.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday in everything I do. Being a Mormon is a way of life. It’s someone who is dedicated to Jesus Christ and willing to follow is teachings and diligently implement them in your life. I try my hardest to follow God’s commandments and be the best that I can. I am not perfect and often mess up, through repentance I know that I can be forgiven, not only that, but Christ will be there to strengthen me and help me overcome my weaknesses. Being a disciple of Christ is not an easy task, but it is worth any and every sacrifice.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kelsey
No we do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. We recognize Joseph Smith as a key instrument in the hands of the Lord in restoring Christ's church here on the earth. God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet. Joseph Smith received revelation from God and directed the affairs of His church. Ever since the time of Joseph Smith we have had a prophet to lead and guide us. The living prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. He is the literal mouthpiece of God. If you follow the prophet you will not be led astray. I know this to be true. Show more Show less
