Hi I'm Laurie

I love reading, hiking, and the outdoors. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mom, a grandma, a daughter, a sister, a Bear Cub Scout leader and a friend. I have six sons and one daughter and three daughter in-laws, a dog and a cat. I love learning and am currently taking online classes to work towards a teaching degree. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, fishing, camping and rappelling. My favorite hobby is my family. I also love to read and sew.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a testimony of the restored gospel. I was born into the church and grew up with knowledge of the gospel. My testimony came from actively seeking for truth. I had read the Book of Mormon many times. When my heart really wanted to find truth, I read with a great desire to know the truth. My heart was filled with overwhelming joy as I read the book this time. I love the Book of Mormon! Every time I read it I can feel the truth. I have tried to live the precepts taught in this book. By living the teachings of the gospel I have found peace and happiness. I make mistakes, but because of the Savior, Jesus Christ, I can keep trying to be better. The gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me to raise my children with an anchor that they can always count on.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by trying to follow the Saviors example. I have been very involved in scouting and enjoy working with boys and seeing them achieve a goal. When they are able to complete the requirements for the eagle badge, it is an accomplishment that changes their life. I have worked in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. I have received Wood badge training and enjoy working with all faiths in the Scouting program. I have three women that I visit each month and check to see how they are doing. I think of them often and try to find ways I can help them. I help out with math in my daughters classroom. I enjoy volunteering at her school.
