Hi I'm Vince

I am a former Army pilot, a reformed attorney, and a world traveler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my beautiful companion for almost 25 years. We have 4 children: the oldest son served as a missionary in Ukraine and is now attending BYU; the second son is serving as a missionary in Leeds England, our daughter is a senior in high school and our youngest son is in the 8th grade. I spent 8 years in the Army as an AH-64 Apache pilot. I met my wife in Texas and her father said I could marry her, but could not take her out of Texas. That ended my military career. After we were married, my wife took the discussions and decided to be baptized. We were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple shortly thereafter. I went to law school at the University of Texas and practiced for many years before deciding to switch careers again and become a businessman. We have traveled all over the world and met many wonderful people. We love adventure. When our children are grown, my wife and I plan to serve missions.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon and know it is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was a prophet and he truly saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ like he said he did. If Joseph Smith was a prophet, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church. Even though the Book of Mormon is the basis for my testimony, I have had many, many spiritual experiences such that I cannot deny the hand of God in my life. I believe we have a prophet on the earth today who guides and directs us. I know that by following the counsel of God's prohpets we can protect our families. I cannot imagine raising my children today without the Church. Being active in the Church has helped me grow closer to Jesus Christ, which has helped me be a better husband and father. The promise of an eternal family, where I can be with my sweetheart forever, keeps me working at being a better person and striving to be worthy of all the blessings I have been given.

How I live my faith

I have worked in many capacities in the Church. Most recently I worked with the young men aged 14-16. I have taken many high adventure trips with the young men hiking, kayaking, and going to Big Bend. I also regularly visit, with a young man companion, a couple of older single sisters in our congregation. I make sure that they know they are loved and cared for and help out where I can. I try to do what Christ would have me do. When I serve others, I feel an inkling of how Christ feels about us. I love that the members of our Church take care of one another. We all have our faults, but we all know we are striving to do better. I now work with the full time missionaries in our area and coordinate the missionary activities in our congregation.
