Hi I'm Jason

I enjoy golf, running and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are the parents of 4 children, including twin boys. I have coached little league soccer, baseball and basketball teams and take the kids golfing as often as mom will let us. I usually have to wake up early if I want to run or work-out and at this stage go for distance versus speed. Music also has played a significant role in my life and I enjoy listening to the kids practice the piano or violin (although it is not always easy getting them to practice) and enjoy sitting and playing on a Sunday afternoon or accompanying them during their recitals. I spend the rest of my time in the accounting and finance field of a healthcare company and take great pride in the fact that my company helps care for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

In a very personal way, the Spirit has let me know that Heavenly Father has laid out a plan for me and my family to return to him. This plan includes the fact that each of us have agency, but this agency came with consequences. The key aspect to this plan was that Heavenly Father knew that I would fall short of His requirements for me to return to Him (that I would die and that I would sin). He provided that a great Atonement should be made to help me overcome these two obstacles, should I repent and live my life according to the example of His son, and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Beyond this plan Heavenly Father has for all of His children, I know He has an individual plan for me. I have felt His Spirit literally guide my path and help me make important decisions in my life, many decisions which at the time seemed inconsequencial, but looking back were significant cross-roads type choices. I feel richly blessed and know that these all came from a loving Father in Heaven who has molded me into who I am. I appreciate that I can go to Him in prayer and that He answers me in a host of different ways - through personal promptings, through scripture study, through His prophets, apostles and other servants, or through another person.

How I live my faith

I find the most joy when I am serving others. This starts with my immediate and extended family, those that I serve in my church calling, or serving a neighbor in need. I love working with the youth and spending time each week doing everything from service projects to dodgeball, from soccer, to camp-outs. Over just the last year or so we have worked on a number of Eagle Scout service projects including helping food banks, local elementary schools, state parks, and other church groups. These young men keep me feeling young and it is fun seeing them grow up, make good choices, attend college, and start their own families and careers. As much as I try to live my faith each day, I still feel that my service falls far short of what I feel I need to do to repay my Heavenly Father for the countless blessings He gives me.
