Hi I'm Austin Williams

I am Austin, I live in Houston, I study and ball at Rice University and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was a missionary in Guatemala helping the people there and now I play football at Rice where I will receive a great education and am preparing for my future all the while trying to bring others up.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God and Jesus love each of us very much. They would not forsake us and I know they have provided council and commandments for us to learn how to be like them so we can live with them again. Prophets in the Bible, Book of Mormon and now provide council and direction from our Lord. If we follow it it will bring us joy for now and eternity. By the power of God I know this is Christ's Church and that it only has the authority of God to act in his name in all ordinances.

How I live my faith

Obedience is a good way to live life. I wish I could say I was 100% but I live my life as a work in progress toward becoming like our Savior Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Austin Williams
In the scriptures, Moses chapter 1 verse 39 it states, "For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." Eternal Life means living with God again, or in other words, spiritual life. So the purpose of this life is to prepare to live with God again. We aren't all perfect, sometimes we may treat others and ourselves poorly. We may make wrong decisions from time to time, but I know that these experiences are for our learning and we can become more like our heavenly father as we follow his example, are baptized and strive to become perfect "even as God is Perfect."
