Hi I'm Amanda

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I lived in China for a year to teach English. I am now starting my own family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Amanda, a wife, and soon to be mother. My husband and I are expecting our first child (a boy!) in 6 weeks. Before getting married I volunteered to teach English in China and LOVED my time there. It was a big change from the small town I grew up in, to live in a HUGE city. But it was SO good for me. I also got my associates degree before getting married. I was lucky to know my husband most of my life. He was my best friend throughout high school, and still is. He went on a mission, and when he came home we got married! Life isn't always easy, but I love it. I love to bake and cook. Of course they are just hobbies and I am no pro, but it is fun for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Church and I have never doubted it. I feel very blessed for that. I think what I liked at first in the Mormon Faith was the unity I saw. It brought my parents closer together, my extended closer together. And we had friends wherever we went thanks to the church. If we were in need other church members were there for us, and we were there for them. As I get older I can see more of the blessings that come from being a Mormon. I have a healthy life style. I have no regrets in my life. I have a family that can be together forever. What more could a person want? I also know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and an older brother, Jesus Christ who knows what I am going through. I know I am never alone. I am so grateful for prayer and even more so, I am grateful that I KNOW that Heavenly Father is listening to me, and cares enough about me to help me out, and to comfort me. I also love the set up of this church. It is set up the same way that Christ set up his Church when he was on the Earth. And I am grateful that we have a Prophet to lead and guide us, and I am grateful for personal revelation that helps us know we are on the right track! I just love this Church!

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach Sunday School to 12-13 year olds and we love it! I also work with girls between the ages of 8-11 and do a lot of fun activities with them. We try to do activities that focus on service, increasing their talents, scripture study, and ways to prepare them for their futures. I also am a ward missionary and get to go out and help share the gospel. I also go and visit some of the other women in my community and see what they need and to leave a spiritual thought.
