Hi I'm Sarah

I had a desire to know the stories in the bible and how they applied to me today. I was baptized in 2006. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, sister, mother, preschool teacher, wife and friend. I enjoy art and creative expression. I am the only member of the Mormon church in my family besides my children and husband. I am a convert. The Mormon Church doesn't make me better than anyone else, it makes me better than myself alone.

Why I am a Mormon

I never felt like I truly belonged or wholeheartedly believed in what other churches taught. I wanted to feel uplifted and know what to do with my life now that I have it. I remember a preacher from another church talk about how I was a sinner. I just remember saying, "Okay, okay, I get it, I am a sinner. Now what?" He never did answer that. But when I stepped into a Mormon meetinghouse, I instantly felt uplifted and encouraged. I was raising two daughters alone after a seven year marriage. I wanted to be a part of a church family that would love and support me and my teenage children and provide them guidance to make better choices such as avoiding drugs, alcohol, or pre-marital sex. There are never any guarantees but I know that my children are making better choices than I did when I was their age. We have since been sealed together in the Mesa Temple for time and eternity.

How I live my faith

I am the Young Women (ages 12-17) Girls Camp director. We went to camp for four days and had the best time ever! I am also the Young Women Secretary. We learn about making goals in life, treating our bodies with respect, how to choose a life partner and husband, how to give service to others, the importance of education and continuing education, spreading the love of Christ to others.
