Hi I'm Jen

I have been a medical assistant, a special ed teacher, and now I'm a Mom. it's the best job ever! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of one beautiful little girl... for now. I have been many different roles, but this is the best one! I enjoy reading (most genres), crafts (the easy kind), sewing (mostly quilting), and spending time with my family. I am blessed to be a stay at home mom, though sometimes coming up with creative enough activities to keep my daughter busy seems like more work than a full-time job! I am just a normal woman, trying to do the best that I can! I too find it difficult to manage all the activities in life, make sure I am teaching my daughter everything she needs to know to be a strong daughter of God, be healthy and presentable, keep my home and family running smoothly, and still find time for myself so that I feel like a person too! My biggest issues right now are potty training, and finding ways to keep the t.v. off!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it feels right! I have lived both without following the Gospel and with following it's teachings. I feel the difference the truth brings to my life and my happiness. With the Gospel, i know where my choices lead me and what my choices really are. When life gets tough, I have eternal perspective. When it feels like no one is listening, I have my Heavenly Father to talk to. When i have questions, I have scriptures to help me find the answers. I can go to the Temple when I need a reminder of who is really in charge of the world. Mostly I am a Mormon because i know the truth of the Gospel! It burns fervently in my soul! I know that the Book of Mormon is true! I know that Heavenly father provides a Prophet to guide us as he did in the Bible.I know that my family will be together forever, and that life is eternal! Because of this knowledge, I am a woman who knows where she is going and why! Life is confusing. It is nice to have a light in the darkness!

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in all I do, at least I hope that I do. I know I am not perfect, so there are daily mistakes, but I try to balance my life by using Gospel principles. Sometimes the floors don't get vacuumed because i have spent a lot of extra time playing with my daughter or working on projects with my husband. But that's okay, because life is about building relationships, and learning as much as we can about life and it's wonders. Without that understanding, it would be a simple thing to just ignore my family to keep my home spotless. That is one example of how I Live my faith every day. Currently, I get to work with the youth in our area. More specifically, the girls between the ages of 12 and 18. It is such a privilege to be trusted with such an awesome responsibility to teach and have influence over these young women! I am constantly amazed by their strength of character and beauty. . I have also been lucky enough to work with the younger children (age 6 and 7) as well as those children with special needs. It is always a reminder to me of how much Heavenly Father loves his children! My faith governs my goals, my activities, my politics, my community involvement, my hobbies, my entertainment, my relationships, and in short... all that I do. I try to live my faith with all that I have!
