Hi I'm Kari

I'm a triathlete, personal trainer and coach, and mother of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in the fitness industry for over 11 years now. I've coached high school diving, coached adults and kids in triathlons, master swim coach, and spin instructor. I have been a regional champion in XTerra Triathlons (off-road). I have trained athlete's and non-athlete's but have been most inspired by the non-athletes who have changed their future by stepping out of their comfort zones and learned to be healthy. I have three children who are more energetic than I could ever be. They keep me going! I have served in almost every entity of the church and love the gospel with all my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church my whole life. My mother was a convert at 18 yrs old and my Dad has a long line of pioneer heritage. Growing up I remember my moms family always giving us grief for being members of the church and thought that we were forced to follow as kids. I remember one time in particular when my uncle was really laying it on thick wondering how we could even believe there is a God when so many bad things happen in the world. I had never personally been questioned and it shook me a little. I had to really look deep and come to realize for myself whether I believed because my parents believed or whether I truly had a testimony for myself. That questioning became the most pivotal time for me in the gospel. It was like an out of body experience where I saw my life and could see Gods hand in it in all I did. I could see him holding me up through tough times and I could see His love and comfort throughout. I saw prayers he had answered and remembered what it felt like when I knew He was near. I could not deny what I had already seen and felt as a young teenager. I realized my uncle had never felt it because he had never been taught how to look for it. He could only see hardship and was far from seeking the spirit. I am so grateful to my parents for giving me a life with the priesthood in my home and knowledge of the light of Christ. I love the gospel and can't imagine having a better life without it. It is my foundation I stand on. I am so grateful for the Saviors sacrifice and for our ability to make it back to our Heavenly Father because of Him.

How I live my faith

I am currently in charge of all of the youth sports in the surrounding area. I also serve in my ward as the women's activity leader. I plan and organize all the events for our women outside of sunday meetings. I currently visit teach two wonderful women in our ward and am always looking for different ways I can serve.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kari
The more I study about the body the more I can't understand how anyone believes there's not a God. The intricacies, the balance, the miracle in every day actions. Our bodies are unbelievable and it is not possible that we could be an accident. Look all around you at the very delicate balance of life and tell me there's not a plan behind it. Show more Show less
