Hi I'm Sheri

I am a college educated wife, and mother of 6. I choose to stay home and raise my children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and raised in Utah and Washington state. I met my husband at BYU-Provo. I graduated from BYU in 1994. I have been married for 17 years. My husband and I have 6 children ranging in age from 13 to 1. I love to spend time with my children reading stories, playing family games, and talking as we work together. I enjoy working in my garden, making homemade bread, reading a good book, and making various crafts. I am a stay at home mom and I enjoy the important work that I do in raising my children, organizing my home, and providing a nurturing atmosphere in our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I was baptized at age 8. I do not remember a time that I did not have tender feelings of love for my Savior, Jesus Christ. As a child we read the Book of Mormon as a family every morning. We each took turns reading a few verses of a chapter and usually one of my parents had insightful comments or would answer our questions. But, not until I was 12 did I read the whole Book of Mormon for myself. As my leaders spoke of the need to have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ for myself I knew that I didn't have to get on my knees to ask if it was true. I already knew. Then and now as I read and think about the truths in the Book of Mormon the Holy Spirit speaks in that still small voice and testifies of the truths that I know. I continue to follow what I learned as a child because it helps me strengthen my relationship with the Savior and I feel good doing what I know to be right. It gives me a solid base to teach my children of their Savior's love and how they too can live in a manner that will be pleasing to God.

How I live my faith

I feel that it is very important as a follower of Jesus Christ that I am a living example to my spouse, children and neighbors. I try very hard to live every commandment and do good daily. I read my personal scriptures every night, pray morning and night as an individual and with my family, and I look for things that I can do to reach out to others. Each night my husband and I gather our children and read the scritures and have family prayer. Every week my husband and I teach our children a gospel based principle in a fun family activity night. Every month I visit with three women individually and present a gospel message to them. I currently have the opportunity of teaching the young women from the ages of 12-18 every Sunday. I help them plan and participate in their weekly activities. As a mother I have the opportunity to help my children prepare gospel based talks that they occasionally give in the children's Sunday meeting. I sing in the church choir and participate in other productions. In all I do and say I try to remember my Savior and live my life as He would have me live.
