Hi I'm Doug

I'm a student studying Historic Building Conservation on the south coast of England, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always enjoyed looking at and studying Old Buildings. I'm currently studying Historic Building Conservation at the University of Portsmouth. I enjoy traveling, singing, watching good wholesome movies, swimming, and going on walks and hikes with my family. I have 10 younger brothers and sisters and love being a part of a big family.

Why I am a Mormon

My two grandma's are converts to the church and came to Utah from Ontario, Canada and Ohio. My parents continued faithfully in the church, and when I was eight years old I was baptized. I'm not a Mormon just because I grew up in the church. When I was 12 years old, I made it a personal goal (without the influence of my parents), to read the Book of Mormon. Through reading the Book of Mormon I have felt of it's truthfulness. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. It testifies of Jesus Christ and his divine ministry. It's helped me avoid and overcome temptations and has helped me become a better person in every way. I know that if any person, no matter the circumstances, or situations in life reads the Book of Mormon and prays about it with a sincere desire to know and accept truth will feel the peace that comes from the words of it's pages. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross for each and every living soul that has come to and is now living on the earth. He is the light of the world. If we look to him we can find the pure happiness that God intended us to have in this life.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ has helped me live a better life, though I can always improve. I always try to be honest with my fellow men. I try not to judge others, but look at them as Christ would look upon them with pure love and kindness. I strive to live my religion all day, every day, 7 days a week, not just Sunday, because I have personally found that when I do, it brings me the greatest happiness and peace, knowing that I am following Christ. I have served, and will continue to serve in the church through teaching others about Christ, helping out those who are in need, and leading others humbly when I am given the responsibility to do so.
