Hi I'm Lisa

I am a self-employed Pet Stylist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 3 beautiful boys that are obsessed with Star Wars. I am a certified Pet Stylist and work at home. I love being able to be home with my boys and still do what I love. I love dogs, especially Yorkies. I love camping in the mountains with my family. I love playing the piano. It helps me relax and unwind. I enjoy crotcheting doilies and afghans, although I rarely find the time to lately. I have attempted knitting and sewing, but haven't gotten the hang of either skill yet. ;) I enjoy cooking and gardening. I love to run and ride my bike along the river. I love to travel and hope to go to Spain someday. I also look forward to volunteering to help with the Teacher Appreciation events at my son's school this year.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church. When I was 12 years old, I decided to find out for myself if all the things I had been taught were really true. So, I read the entire Joseph Smith History and prayed about it. I wrote my thoughts in my journal and continued to study the scriptures daily. I felt a peace that I can't explain and I knew that it was all true. In High School, I was called to serve on the Seminary Council as the Historian. This was a great experience for me and helped my testimony grow. When I dated a young man of another faith, I began to question everything again. Not whether or not it was true, but if I was going to stand firm in my faith, or walk away to be with this boy. I prayed a lot and evaluated my future goals. I knew I wanted a temple marriage and if I walked away, that wouldn't happen. I decided that as much as I loved him, I couldn't give up my faith. I broke up with him, even though it was extremely difficult to do. To make a long story short, he became interested in the LDS church, and was baptized less than a year later. I was blessed to marry this young man in the Salt Lake City Temple. We now have 3 beautiful boys that are growing up with the peace and security the gospel brings. I am so glad that I chose to stay strong.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as an "Achievement Days" leader for the 11 year old girls in my ward. We have fun activities twice a month that help them develop new talents, share their talents, and help prepare them for their future as wives and mothers and encourage them to get an education, as well as developing a relationship with God. They also work on goals to help them be more Christlike. I also enjoy serving as a "Visiting Teacher." I enjoy serving the women we visit and getting to know them better. I learn so much from them. Occasionally helping with the musical numbers during the church service in the nearby Care Center is also something I enjoy.
