Hi I'm Susy

I grew up in Mexico, I'm a mother of 4 children, I'm a wife, I love traveling, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Mexico. (Except for the 2 years we lived in the U.S. while my father completed graduate work). I moved back to the U.S. to go to college. I left college for a year and a half while I served a mission for my church in Costa Rica. I’m a Public Relations Specialist but gave it up to be a full time mother of 4 wonderful children. I currently reside in Arizona. I love to travel and learn about other cultures. One of my dreams is to go back to Mexico and serve in orphanages. I love to exercise, especially to run. I love music and any kind of art. But my most favorite thing is to teach. I especially enjoy teaching my children about what really matters in life. There is nothing more fulfilling for me than to see my children learn good values and correct principles and carry them out. It is more fulfilling than running a marathon or having one of my articles printed on the front page of a newspaper… or visiting any exotic place…

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. There came a time in my life when I was a teenager that I felt a lot of pressure to not live the Mormon standards. I grew up in the city of Morelia in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. I was the only Mormon in my school and had no Mormon friends. I decided that I needed to find out for myself if the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were correct. I started praying and taking all my questions directly to my Heavenly Father. I started reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Little by little, my understanding of why we need to follow the commandments and live the standards given by our prophet continued to make more sense in my heart and in my head. I continued to live the standards and, little by little, I started seeing the fruits that came into my life as a result and they where good. One night as I was reading the Book of Mormon, I decided to ask again if this book was indeed another testament of Jesus Christ. I will never forget the powerful feeling that came over me and I knew without a doubt that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and that this was His church and that He wanted me in it. Since then, the Book of Mormon has truly changed my life. It has given me understanding and guidance in all I do. It is hard to explain, but there is a power that comes into my life as I read from its teachings and try to apply them to my life. The Book of Mormon has helped me understand how much our Heavenly Father and our Savior love me. It has answered many questions that I have had about the purpose of my life. It teaches me to differentiate truth from error. I have read this book several times and it is amazing how every time I read it, I can feel again and again a feeling of peace and love. I know with all my heart that this Book comes from God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to make my Relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ the most important priority in my life. Every night I try to remember to ask myself what I did to strengthen my relationship with God. Some of the things I do to strengthen my relationship with God is talking to him through prayer, repenting, listening to Him by reading scriptures, attending the temple, and carrying out my church responsibilities. I’m far from perfect at doing this but the Mormon Church has been such a blessing in my life. Not only has it greatly facilitated everything for me so that I can strengthen my relationship with God, but it has also given me the steps necessary I need to follow to return to live with Him someday. I feel it is such a blessing and privilege to be part of the Mormon Church! I currently serve with the Young Women organization in my congregation and absolutely love it!
