Hi I'm Seth

I'm the eldest of 3. I'm an expat-brat. I'm a car lover. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because of my Dad's job we moved around a lot as a family. I got a good dose of culture as a kid. From India, to Mexico and Arabia. I love good food, from anywhere. I love cultures and their people. For the longest time I have loved cars. I am studying History and Communications. Right now I am spending time teaching and sharing the gospel with those who need it, as a missionary in California.

Why I am a Mormon

The church is something that I have grown up with. But I dont think that I really appreciated it until I was about 14. That was when I really took time to read from the Book of Mormon. As I was doing so, I just felt so much happier. Days seemed more fulfilling, school was easier, everything was better. That became my testimony of the Book of Mormon and it motivates me, even today. Over the past 20-or so months I have been serving as a Missionary for the church. And my testimony is far beyond what it once was when I was 14. It has been strengthened as I have read from the scriptures daily and taken the time to rely on my Father in Heaven in times of need. When I was younger I would go to my parents for help or comfort, but now I know that God is there for me, whatever the situation may be. All of the moving around we did as a family, really helped me appreciate my Parents and Siblings more. I have seen all sorts of people from all over, and it is a comfort to know that God loves and knows each of us. From the poorest of the poor to the wealthiest of us all, he wants us to come back to him.

How I live my faith

Right now I spend time as a missionary (those guys in white shirts and ties), in the San Francisco bay Area. I try my best to reach out to others and help them feel the same happiness that I feel from my testimony. I try to serve all those that are around me, and reach out to lift people.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

We know that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. Baptism is one of those Ordinances of the Gospel that lead to salvation. What makes this ordinance important is our Agency. God has given us the freedom to choose. When we begin the process to change and repent, we are choosing to come closer to God. Baptism is a witness to our Father in Heaven that we are willing to take the name of Christ upon us, keep his commandments and stand as witnesses to others of our faith. It symbolizes the burial of our old ways and being reborn as a child of our Father in Heaven. When we have made those choices and are Baptized we receive a remission from our sins and we become "new creatures," as the scripture says. Show more Show less
