Hi I'm Katey Sharp

I am a simple girl, with a passion for teaching and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am newly married to the man of my dreams. We are just starting out, handling life as it comes and loving every minute of it. Some of my passions include dogs, horses, crafts, and food. I am a master at nothing, but a novice at many things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have been active my whole life. When I was sixteen, I began to rebel in certain aspects. I struggled for about a year going to church but not really doing all that I should. I never doubted the Lord or his existence and power, looking back now, I really just doubted my abilities and my own worth. I was lucky enough to have parents who never gave up on me and kept urging me to come back. I realized that the Lord never had any doubts about my worth and that He was just waiting for me to realize that His love is never conditional. I began to improve my life and now I am proud to say that I was sealed to my husband in the Seattle Temple on August 4, 2011. I know that my redeemer lives. I know that He is the Redeemer of the world. He loves us and that love is unconditional and that He died for us so that we can overcome our human nature of doubt and forgetfulness and return to be with him. I know that He knows us personally. He knows our challenges and needs. He knows how to best support us. He gives us people in our lives to support us as we struggle in our mortality. He is not able to physically take care of us and that is why we have the Church. The Church is full of people who are striving to be His hands on this earth and to help us strengthen our Testimonies and grow closer to Him. Life is a work in progress. As humans, we continually make mistakes; it is inevitable that we will. But we have the Atonement to help us get back on track. We have people who have gone before us, struggled before us, who can help. We are a happy church. A joyful church. A peaceful church. And I know this is because of the direct influence of the Lord and the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. I am still awaiting a Job in our new Ward but my husband and I try to serve wherever we can. We try to go to the Temple once a month. In the past, I have taught adults and organized activities.
