Hi I'm Shelley!

I grew up in Tillamook, OR., I have a twin sister, I'm a convert to the church and I'm so glad I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm basically a happy person, but why shouldn't I be, I have a great life. I have a wonderful husband, we have raised 7 children who are now married, so now we are enjoying the grandkids. My favorite things are getting together with family, watching a weird Sci-fi movie, having a clean house, baking bread, eating chocolate, cooking, which is why I'm in a little catering business with my 2 best friends, 4-wheeling in the mountains, and playing at the lake. The water skiing days are almost over, so now we are learning to fish!

Why I am a Mormon

I've often wondered why I'm so blessed? Why am I one of the lucky ones? I truly believe that "Decisions Determine Destiny". I'm a convert to the church. My parents made the decision to join the church when I was about 8 years old. It was hard for them because my Dad was a coffee drinking, cigarette smoking truck driver and my Mom's family said they would disown her if she got baptized. So why did they? Because they knew what they'd been taught by the missionaries was TRUE! That decision changed our lives. I'm a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ did restore His church upon the earth. I believe we do have apostles and a living prophet on the earth today. I believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ because when I read it the Holy Spirit touches my heart and I know its TRUE! I believe that families are meant to be together forever through sealing ordinances preformed in out temples. I believe that I am a child of God and I know that He knows me and loves me. His Gospel truths bring my life peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints! Being a Mormon is a life style. We try to live our religion everyday, not just on Sundays. We pay tithing, we have family prayer together, we study and read the scriptures, we are asked to serve in ways that keep us pretty busy sometimes. Currently I'm in the Primary, our children's organization, as the music chorister. We serve where we are asked and sometimes feelings of being inadequate are very real and that's when I pray for help! I really try to be completely honest, look for ways to serve, and be a good example of the way Christ would have us live. Why do I do all this? Because I know its all TRUE! I try each day to live in a way so that I can return again to my home in heaven, with my family all around me.
