Hi I'm Sara

I'm a widowed mom of 2, a massage therapist, and musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a widowed mother of two beautiful children. I lost my husband in a car accident in 2006 and have been raising my kids on my own since then. My youngest also is a type 1 diabetic so that brings some challenges to my crazy life! I am a massage therapist and a direct sales consultant for a cooking gadget company. I love working with my hands. I love to cook but hate to do the dishes! I have played the bassoon for over 20 years and currently play with a local chamber orchestra. I love all things music. My kids are my world and I try to do my best everyday to be the mother I know I can be. My life is hectic and busy but I wouldn't trade a single experience!

Why I am a Mormon

My first experience with the Church goes way back to kindergarten when I first met my best friend. I didn't realize that she was a Mormon until later but she was and still is the kindest and most sincere and giving person I know. In high school, she always invited me to the youth dances and included me in several church activities. My dad tried to convince me that my friend wasn't who I thought she was but I always knew better. Looking back, I know that the Spirit was working on me then to teach me the truth of the Gospel. I joined the Church in 1998 after I met and was engaged to my husband. He was always a bright light in my life and I love and miss him so much everyday. It could have been very easy to walk away from the Church after losing my soulmate 5 years ago and having to raise a then 3 year old and 8 month old on my own. However, I am still here and my faith has been strengthened through my trials. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, has lifted and carried me several times over the past 5 years. I know that He will continue to be there for me when I need Him. I am so grateful to know that my family is going to be a family forever! That simple truth keeps me going through the hard times and brings me even more joy in the happy times.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best every day to follow the example and teachings of Christ. I attend Sunday meetings regularly and teach my kids at home the importance of the Gospel and being good examples to those around us. I have a fun assignment in my ward that I love! I get to use my creativity to plan activities for the women's group at church. We have such a great time learning new skills and learning new crafts, recipes, and hobbies. I love sharing my talents with others and seeing the happiness that it brings!
