Hi I'm Robert

I'm a father of 4 Jedi boys and a snake collector. I married my high school sweetheart and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a father of four wonderful boys and married to my high-school sweet heart. I have lived all over the United States and the world. Even though I have seen much of the world, I love living in the Midwest USA and have chosen to make this our home. I work at our family owned construction business and wind down at night playing checkers and doing gardening (yah, not the real macho guy thing to do, but I love it). I have always loved snakes, and now raise ball pythons as a fun hobby. Star Wars collecting is a fun common bond that I share with my boys...it gives us father & son(s) time!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe at some time in everyone's life you come to a point of deep reflection about some of life's greatest questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? Is there a reason for our existence? Are we alone in the universe? Is there a god? If there is a god, what does he want me to do? Where can I find lasting happiness? and so on.... Why am I Mormon? I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because it has provided solid answers to these and many other of my questions in my life. Not just answers, but rather answers that have spoken "truth" to my mind and heart. Answers that sound familiar to me, that click! As I have learned about the church's teachings (the gospel), I have prayed to know that it is from God, and have received unmistakable confirmation that it is. The best part of my personal "witness" of truth, is that it is nothing unique. This experience can be had by any one who earnestly wants to know for themselves. Our Father in Heaven loves all of his children (you & I). Just like I love my children and want the best for them, our Father in Heaven wants the best for us all too. Learn about him. Study the teachings. Pray for a confirmation. I did, and that is why I am a Mormon. My life is filled with countless blessings because of it and yours can be too!

How I live my faith

One of the ways that I try to live my faith is through service. There is no paid clergy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church functions through the devotion and service of its members. My parents always encouraged serving others. Whether it is serving by teaching early morning classes to teenagers, visiting the elderly or getting dirty in yard work, I have always found great joy in serving others. By serving others, my own personal problems in life seem less important as I focus on others instead. The Savior served and was happy, so why not do the same.
