Hi I'm Brenda

I am a physical therapist. I recently got married. I love hiking, the outdoors and playing sports whenever I can. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I finished my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science a few years ago and am currently working on my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I enjoy playing sports in what little free time I have. My favorite is volleyball. I love hiking and being in nature. God has given us so many beautiful things to enrich our lives if we will pay attention. I love spending time with my family, but don't get as much opportunity these days, as we are all pursuing different avenues of life. While I am not married yet, I enjoy being an aunt and the joy that brings watching my nieces and nephew grow and learn new things. Music is an important aspect of my life. I started to play the piano when I was 9. I was mostly self taught until college when I had to opportunity to take lessons for three semesters. I minored in music and was able to grow so much. I also play the flute and love to sing. I find that music is my avenue to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I watched two of my brothers struggle with their testimonies and leave the church for a while. I always felt like church was were I should be, but didn't really know why. My first couple years of college I struggled with what I knew to be true and through a couple of failed relationships decided that I needed to know for myself what I believed in. There is nothing more comforting than knowing that the lord is pleased with me. Knowing that after all my sins I can be forgiven if I repent and come unto him. I've read the Book of Mormon and know it is true. I've found so many answers to life's problems in its pages. The gospel offers me so much support. I know that no matter what happens in my life someone will be there to comfort me. The lord knows all my heartache and sorrow. He knows the stuggles I go through and the growth I've made. I know he will never give up on me and I have vowed to always keep him in my life.

How I live my faith

Church gives me many opportunities to serve. I play the piano and the organ at church meetings and help to bring the spirit each week. I've also been able to teach other members in Sunday school and other church meetings. This is an opportunity to let the spirit work in my life as I try to let the spirit teach and guide my lesson. I've been able to set up for activities and participate in service activities. Whether it be getting a group together to do yard work for the widows in the area or doing humanitarian projects there are always people in need.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Brenda
Mormon temples are used to receive further ordinances and make covenants with God. Once you have made these promises for yourself you can return and serve as proxy for those who have passed through this life without receiving these blessings. I go to the temple to be closure to God and to receive personal instructions for my life. It is a place of peace where you can tune out the worries of the world and focus on God's path for you. My most sacred spiritual experiences have occurred in the temple. Most recently I was sealed to my husband for eternity if we will live up to the covenants we have both made. There is nothing more important to me than to have my family with me forever in righteousness. Show more Show less
