Hi I'm April

I grew up in Arizona. I have four siblings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 2 teenage boys. I've been married for 18 years. I attended 1 year of college and then went into the auto insurance industry. When I had my first child, I decided to quit working and become a stay at home mom. From this, I have learned there is no other career more challenging or rewarding as parenting. Now that my boys are older, I have taken on organizing other peoples homes for part-time work. I love the challenge of turning chaos into order. When I'm not in my home, I can be found at the mall, in a library or at my computer plugging away at the ever elusive book that I hope to complete someday. For exercise, I love to ride bicycles with my husband or run with my dogs. For fun, I study the Old and New Testaments quite extensively with a group of women of various other faiths. I have been doing this weekly for years. Through this practice, I have learned to appreciate and grow from God's word. I have come to find that no matter our faith, we are all alike.

Why I am a Mormon

Prior to joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I had no concept of how God or Jesus Christ fit into my life. I was so unsure, in fact, about who they were and if they were real, that I made the decision to not decide. I was agnostic. The first time I attended a Mormon church, was in Santiago, Chile where I didn't speak a word of Spanish. I was 30 years old and newly married to my return missionary husband. Despite my inability to understand what was being said, I remember feeling comforted and safe in that LDS church building. After this experience, my faith in Jesus Christ grew fast. I could tell by the way I felt that this was what was missing from my otherwise seemingly complete life. It only took me 2 weeks to realize the truthfulness of God's word and work in this church and I was baptized. The best decision I have ever made!!!

How I live my faith

Now that I am living the life of a Mormon, which includes having Family Home Evening Gospel lessons once a week, serving in my community and church, and attending three hours worth of uplifting and cup-filling meetings every Sunday, I can say that there is no other way I'd want to live. It is so wonderful seeing God's hands in our lives and learning how I can grow closer to Him and my savior Jesus Christ every day. The greatest blessing of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, though, is being able to teach my children about who God and Jesus Christ are. I have a strong testimony of of my Savior and his love for me. I know that I would not have achieved this understanding without living the Lord's Gospel as only this church can encourage us to do. I love living my faith and having an understanding of what my purpose on this earth is.
