Hi I'm Dorean

I'm just your typical stay-at-home mom and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children and grew up in a small town. After high school, I moved to the "big city" to attend college. I studied Accounting in college and worked in that field for several years. After I got married and we had children, my priorities changed and I wanted to focus more on my family. Thankfully, things happened with my husband's job that made it possible for me to quit my job. I am now a proud stay-at-home mom to 3 wonderful kids who keep me busy with music lessons, sports and friends. In my spare time I love to read and watch movies. My latest hobby is couponing (not the extreme kind, though!). I love finding deals and saving my family money.

Why I am a Mormon

The honest answer is that I really never knew any different. I was raised in the Church by wonderful parents who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ. We went to church each week, we served others, we prayed together, we read scriptures, etc. The teachings of the Church were really just a way of life for me growing up. When I was about 14, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself. After I finished reading, I got down on my knees and prayed to know if what I was reading was true. I didn't want to rely on what my parents had taught me up to this point. I had such a feeling of warmth and comfort come over me while I was praying that I had no doubt that it was true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I do this simply by being kind and loving, looking for ways to help others, being honest with people, and trying to do my best at whatever I'm doing. Following the teachings of Jesus Christ really is a way of life for me and my family. As a family, we attend church, pray, read scriptures and serve. I have been blessed to be able to serve in the Church in lots of different areas - working with the younger children, the youth and currently with the adult women. Being a member of His Church gives me the opportunity to serve others - which is what the life of the Savior was all about. In addition to serving in the Church, I also volunteer at my childrens' school. I enjoy being in their classrooms, getting to know their friends and helping their teachers.
