Hi I'm Ashley

Im currently a mother of two girls and a wife of six years. I love to be creative and Im a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town of Laveen, Arizona..where we used to joke "Im going into town, you need anything?" Now Im grown and live comfortably in a place where it takes just minutes to grab a gallon of milk or perhaps a candy bar at the gas station. I met my husband at our Institute of Religion. When you know you know and in 5 months we were married. Shortly after the birth of my 1st daughter, I fought every hour with anxiety and sunk into depression. With the help of Blessings from my husband and support from my family, i was able to seek proper help. Through prayer and help I was able emerge from my fearful prison of a mind and enjoy life again. Its from my Father in Heaven where I had to seek his comfort and love and the one true being that I can find it again and again. I fight my fears daily but I am reminded of where I am blessed in my life and find gratitude.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born into the church and thank Father that I never had to deal with the struggles of finding it. The only struggle or goal for me was to gain my own testimony of my given beliefs. It's truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ came through many questions and answered prayers. It was then I saw God's hand in my life and knew that their was a bigger picture. Even though I was raised a "Mormon" or Latter-Day Saint I still had to find out for myself and exercise my free agency. I love the teachings and principles taught to us and even though I love their straight and narrow ways, I too struggle to actively exercise them. But I know in my heart that if I strive to do what is right and practice these tried and true ways I will be blessed.

How I live my faith

For me its remembering to live like Jesus did. I do desire to be a witness of Christ and try to follow for my own sake. Each of us is given a "calling" an assignment, a service for the church to which we can better function with order and union. Its a choice and I know that If I accept the given opportunity that I will be given the guidance and support I need to fulfill it. Its then we are asked to think of others and provide services to them, to which in many cases, ends up blessing those who served more than the ones being served. To reach out of our bubble and help His fellowmen. My calling is Activity Days Leader over the 11-12 yr old girls. My partner and I plan activities for the girls to give service, learn and grow from one another, and find a safe haven with others who share the same morals. I get nervous every time but if I just do it, I'll be blessed.:)
