Hi I'm Alex

I'm a life long student, a writer, an artist, a singer, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in the state of Utah. I am part of a large family. I Believe that learning is an essential part of life. I doubt I will ever stop learning something. It is the greatest feel when you can find something you never knew, and how it relates to you. I love to write. It is my passion. Nothing I have written is published...yet. I love to create characters and locations that vibrate with life. I also love to draw. I'm not as good as others are, but I do my best. All in all, you could say that I love the feel of creating things that were not there before. I also have a passion for music. I wish I could say that I could play an imstrument, but I have yet to master that particular skill. Singing music is something I do a lot of. I can sing at least fairly well. People usually don't complain when I sing, which is often. I could be doing many differnt things, but I can be singing at the same time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because I know it's true. I have found that out for myself. I know if you read the Book of Mormon, want to know for yourself, and if you ask God you can too. (Moroni 10:4) I love what the savior has done for me personally. I have found that the teachings of this church are so simple, and make so much sense. As I have read the Book of Mormon, I have gained so much knowledge and light from it. As I have said, being educated does not mean you have to not believe in God. The more I learn, the more I know that this is the truth.

How I live my faith

I have been in the church for some time. I love the atmosphere and how family oriented it is. But the church is only part of my faith. Much of what I do is done outside of the church. The way I live my faith is through the things that I do and who I am. I used to teach children for a while. It was a very good experience. It was my first experience really teaching people. It shows to me the value of a good knowledge of Christ. As I have lived the life that Christ would have me live, I have gained knowledge of why he had me live the way I do. I have become closer to the savior through the way that I live. Some people think that you cannot be educated and believe in God. That is false. Everything I learn only tells me more that God really does exist.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Just as Christ never recived a penny for his service, we also volunteer our time and service. We are a volunteer organization. Any money paid goes to expenses such as building maintanance and construction. We work because we have been called of God to do it. Think about this, if the savior asked you to do something would you do? Even if he didn't pay you? Show more Show less
