Hi I'm Ken

Native Arizona Mormon, married 39 years, two kids, 9 grandkids. US Naval Academy , Marine Corps , FBI Agent. Family/Faith - 100%

About Me

Now, as a husband, father, grandfather,..sometimes I feel blessed more than I deserve. The most important thing that I have done is to marry the right person in the Temple for time and all eternity. She and my son and daughter, and 9 grandchildren, and my testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ are the most precious things in this world to me. Growing up - when not at home, church, scouts,..I was at the Boys Club. In high school it was Seminary, football, basketball, and baseball. I graduated from the US Naval Academy, took my commission in the US Marine Corps, was an artillery officer, getting out as a Captain. Got an MBA, worked for a computer company EDS, was an FBI Agent for 4-5 years (worked bank robberies in LA), managed a livestock ranch in Grants Pass, Oregon for 4 years (milked a cow morning and night, butchered rabbits, lambed out 300 pure bred suffolk ewes every winter, loved the rural life). Worked in, built a mortgage broker business for 30 years,..hoping to retire and for my wife and I to go on a string of church service missions,..but we lost the business in 2008, losing everything. Starting all over has been the hardest thing I have ever done..humbling. Heavenly Father has blessed us with many miracles and tender mercies. I love spending time with family, working in the Temple, fishing, hunting, tennis, racketball, and boxing. I travel each week now, selling health insurance in rural communities,..I have all that is precious-wife, family, faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to wonderful parents, 5 siblings, who were all faithful members of the church,..so I was raised in the church, with all the benefits of a ward family and all the programs of the church. I left home at 17 to go back east to college,..I then could not rely on my families testimony of the church, but finally had to earnestly read the Book of Mormon, and pray, to find out for myself if it were true or not. I can say that I received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost, undeniable, in my heart and mind..that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was the Prophet of the Restoration, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, led by the Savior through a living prophet. That knowledge and testimony of Heavenly Father, and Heavenly Mother, and Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer, the Atonement, the great Plan of Salvation, the eternal nature of families, and the restored Gospel, have been the most wonderful, exciting, reassuring, comforting, inspiring, and precious aspects of my life.

How I live my faith

I am working out of town 2-4 days each week now, so life is a little different. I have always felt 100% dedicated and committed to serve and do whatever the Lord would ask, call me to do in the church. Over the years, I have had wonderfull experiences serving as a home ward bishop, leading a local congregation of 450 members, for 5 years. I have always felt grateful to serve as a Home Teacher,..visiting assigned 2-3 families each month to be their friend, help them with all of their family needs,.and to communicate any family needs to the ward bishop for further help. I have enjoyed working with cub scouts, boy scouts, teaching youth sunday school classes. For 5 years, my wife and I served in a Young Single Adult ward bishopric,..serving around 150 local single male and female members of the church..activities all week long, and wonderful church worship services every Sunday. Right now, my wife and I are serving as Temple Ordinance workers at the Mesa, Az Temple every Saturday for about 6 hours. This is a fabulous blessing for us to serve and grow in the Temple, the Lord's House,..where worthy members of the church can go to be "sealed" to their family and loved ones, for time and all eternity.
