Hi I'm Elaine

I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love being my farmer's wife. My husband is my best friend and favorite person to be with. I love being the mother of our 9 children. I am finding joy in this journey as we welcome our married children and grandchilden into our lives. I love family, family history, scrapbooking, blogging, decorating, and creating. I love beautiful things. I love the sweet peace that living the gospel brings. I dream of a clean and beautiful home and yard filled with flowers and decor that gladden the eye, and children and grandchildren that gladden the heart. I dream of eternity with my beloved companion.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS home with parents who loved and lived the gospel. After years of living the gospel as a child I did learn for myself that being a member of this church and living it's teachings was what I wanted to do. I have not had an angel appear to me. I have not had a vision or dream. I have not heard a voice telling me that this church is true. My conversion is small and simple and comes as I strive to live it's teachings. It comes as I read the scriptures or the words of counsel from our leaders. It comes as I pray to our loving Heavenly Father. It comes as I serve my family or friends and neighbors. It comes as I attend our church meetings and our sacred temples. It comes as I struggle through challenges and trials of every kind and every size. It comes as a feeling of peace and it fills my heart and soul. I am a Mormon because being so brings me the greatest happiness, contentedness, joy, delight, and satisfaction in life. It is where I find Jesus Christ, who is my strength. I know that all who seek true happiness can find it in the gospel of Jesus Christ, taught in His Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

Faith is an important part of every day. One of my favorite quotes is from President Thomas S. Monson, "Your Future is as Bright as your Faith!" It just makes sense! We are taught to have daily prayer and scripture study on a personal basis and as a family. I feel great strength as we follow that counsel. It creates an inner peace and opens the heart to hear or feel the divine guidance that is promised. It helps us make better choices which leads to greater joy. It is a perfect beginning for every day and a perfect ending for every night. Knowing that I am far from perfect, I find comfort and joy in the fact that I am a daughter of God. I know He knows me personally and He loves me. He wants me to return to Him, a learned and better person. Because of His Plan of Salvation and a loving Savior, Jesus Christ, I can learn and progress each day, repenting when I make a mistake and then trying to do better. I know this is true for each member of my family and for every person on earth. I know that staying close to our Savior and living His teachings is the best way to enjoy a beautiful day and secure a bright future, even a glorious eternal life with our family. My faith and my family are the two most important things to me. I find great joy in being part of each. I am striving daily to become a better wife and mother and know that I can be as I continue to study and learn the teachings of the Savior and then apply those teachings in my daily life. Attending our church meetings helps me learn the doctrine and feel the Spirit testify to my soul. The members of our church become a second family as we work and serve together. Through the years I have served in many positions in our ward and have formed great friendships. Each calling seems to be a favorite while I am serving there, and I have fond memories from those experiences. These opportunities to serve strengthen my testimony as I study and strive to teach and serve others.
