Hi I'm Kaelen

I'm a mom, a new grandma, an inspirational speaker and a working professional. I love to teach, travel, have fun and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to the most amazing man in the world and a mother of two wonderful young adults and the grandmother of a precious baby girl. I worked in the travel and training industry for over 18 years and currently work in the education field. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and am currently earning my Masters in Education. I love spending time with family and our favorite activities traveling are watching movies, eating good food, and just enjoying each others company. I love to color my hair and have fun seeing what shade of red it will come out to be. Sometimes I have not been so lucky and THAT has been fun! Nonetheless, it speaks to the fun in me and that I enjoy! I have a passion for the advancement and education of women as they care for and strengthen home and family. Teaching principles of truth and striving every day to live by those principle is how I govern my life. I love to learn and especially love learning and studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am consistently amazed as each professional position I have held has blessed me with new skills and abilities that assist me as I serve in the Church or the community. The opposite is just as true. It is the belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of the Living God that shapes the way I strive to do my work.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my mother was a member of the church, however my father was not. This was a great source of pain for my heart as I wanted our whole family to participate in the blessings of the Gospel. As a child I always wanted to be like my other Mormon friends whose parents held weekly family nights, prayed together, and attended church together. The older I became the more I wanted to drink in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was drawn to those individuals at school who held high moral beliefs as they were a great strength to me. I have always seemed to know that Jesus is the Christ and this is His true Church. I remember vividly the day I knew that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon was true. I was 14yrs old and had been studying in the Book of Mormon when all of a sudden, I had this great peace settle into my heart, a warm feeling overcome me, and in the deepest part of my soul the feeling told me that all I had been studying and praying about was true! Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ! They did speak to him! That Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and that prophets walk the earth again! All this was made known to me at a young age and I have never doubted the truthfulness of this sacred experience and all that it has held for me and my family ever since! When I was 18 yrs old my father made the decision, after 20 years, that he wanted to align himself with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was one of the single most joyous days of my life up to that point!!! My WHOLE family was going to be members of the true church! A year later our family was sealed for time and all eternity to each other in the Temple of the Lord. The most beautiful thing I remember was how I felt to be sealed for eternity to my family! How I love being a member of this church!

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am! It defines me. I have always been a believing individual and I look at life through "spiritual lenses." This is how I guide my life and as a result, it has led me to serve in the Church in many ways. Currently I have the blessing of serving the youth of the Church. I assist in planning yearly girl's camp for young women ages 12-18 which allows them to step away from the world and enjoy the beauty of God's handiwork. It is a time to come together as sisters in the gospel in a natural setting and feel the Spirit of the Lord while learning how to care for themselves and become more confident in their abilities. Serving in any capacity in the Church has always been a great joy to me and in doing so I have received countless unsolicited blessings. Other than serving in the Church, I live my faith by the way I interact with those whom I associate with or pass on the street. I love to smile! I love walking through the grocery store and smiling, hoping that my smile may bring joy to someone who is feeling down. There is a saying that says, "There is a smile in heart and it shows on my face for the love Jesus has for me!" When people see my smile I hope I am acting the way Jesus would have me act and sharing my love with others as He shares His love with me.
