Hi I'm Cami

I'm a wife, a mother to 4 children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had the opportunity to live in a few different places. I was born in Wyoming, I have lived in Colorado most of the last 21 years with the exception of a year in upstate NY, and the last 2 years in Australia. I enjoy sewing, and recently have enjoyed learning how to quilt. I like to scrapbook, I enjoy reading blogs about DIY crafts or home decor, and trying out new recipes. I have tried to push myself by doing a triathalon sprint, and a half marathon. As a family we like to enjoy the outdoors when we get a chance. Some of our fondest memories to date are long road trips around Australia and the many AWESOME things we could experience there. I had never really been outside of the US until we had this opportunity and now I would love to travel almost anywhere in the world to experience other cultures and places. I have 4 children-3 daughters and 1 son. Both of our families live close by so we spend time with them as well. I enjoy being a part of where my children attend school and volunteer when possible so that I can get to know their friends and teachers. I enjoy getting to know others but also enjoy being home when there is a chance to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. I have many pioneer ancestors that I enjoy hearing stories about. I have had the opportunity to live close to the many church history sites in upstate NY, which strengthened my testimony and gave me a new appreciation for Joseph Smith and our early church members. I have always believed that I am a Child of God and that the plan of salvation made perfect sense to me. I lived with my Father in Heaven before I came to Earth and I have a chance to live with him again if I live worthy. I know my Heavenly Father is aware of me and answers my prayers. I know He knows what is best for me. While we were living in Australia I had the opportunity to get to know people from all over the world. Because I had this opportunity I could understand that God loves all his children no matter our circumstances, religion, or race. Many of the people I met and loved came from very difficult circumstances and were refugees. They were so grateful to be in a place of freedom or to enjoy much of what we have had the priviledge to enjoy all our lives. I got a new perspective on judging people. We NEVER know by looking at people what they have really been through. We all have different trials that we must overcome and that makes us who we are. As a parent I feel like I have a small perspective of how our Heavenly Father loves each of us.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. To me being a Mormon is not something I do on Sundays only. I have the opportunity of working with the women in our church and planning activities that strengthen us as women in these times. I believe that Satan wants women to feel insecure, like we don't measure up to the world's standards. I believe our Heavenly Father loves all his children and has given the divine role of bearing and rearing children to his daughters. I love the time we spend together as women lifting and building one another. I love that the Gospel focuses on our families and how important that is. It is not easy being a wife and a mother but nothing worthwhile comes easy.
