Hi I'm Diana

I'm a mom , a grandmother, a wife, a nurse practitioner and a nurse midwife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom and a grandmother which are the most important things to me. I love my family and I love to spend time with them. Professionally, I work as a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. I talk to women every day about their health and their concerns about their lives. It is a rewarding field, especially being involved with the the most exciting time in women's lives, having babies! I love the outdoors, the mountains and the beaches. I enjoy kayaking, long walks and biking.

Why I am a Mormon

I always wanted to know more, more about God, more about where I came from and what I was supposed to be doing in my life and where I was going when I died. I knew there were answers to these questions. The Mormons answered all these questions and so much more. Recently I lost my 25 year old daughter to a drug overdose. I was so very sad and confused. Because of my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ I was able to survive my daughter's death. I was so close to her and I wanted to know where she went after she died. I thought my testimony was strong before she passed away but now I feel stronger about my knowledge of life after life. The thought of never seeing her again was too much to bear. I know that I will see her again one day. My life has a purpose and I know that I live to learn about happiness, joy, sorrow and pain. Jesus Christ showed us the way to live so that we could be happy. I try to be obedient, to follow God's ways. I have 7 children that I love very much. I have been married 34 years to the same man whom I love very much. I have 16 grandchildren who are so enjoyable and fun. It is a big secret that big families are so much fun. The Mormon church teaches you to serve others, to lose yourself in service. Having a big family helps you to lose yourself in service. When I first heard the story of Joseph Smith it was like I had heard that story before. Joseph Smith helped to restore what had been taken from the earth during the apostasy. We learned about the keys to baptism, the Holy Ghost, eternal marriage and sealing of families. We learned about Jesus Christ visiting North America after His crucifixion. He loves His brothers and sisters and wants them to be happy. We all want happiness and following Christ is an excellent way to be headed toward happiness. I am grateful to be a Mormon and know that I am a child of God, that God is my Father.

How I live my faith

I have had many responsibilities in my church. We are not paid for our work in the church, we have an unpaid ministry, all volunteer. I have spent many hours working with children and youth, also working in music. My husband plays the organ and I direct music so together we have been in charge of many choirs. I have attended girl's camp and taught outdoor skills. I have taught children about the earth and the blessings that God gives them. I have taught adults many different topics. I visit women in my congregation and help when needed. I go to church on Sunday and worship and pray and learn.
