Hi I'm Darrell

I've lived in Utah, Japan, Indiana, Virginia, and Colorado. I'm a family man and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like my job designing training and development programs because it lets me learn about a lot of different subjects, jobs, and occupations and it lets me help other people. For example, I've built safety classes for a multi-billion dollar organization to show employees how to work safely around mechanical equipment. I've also developed career development and leadership development programs to help people move forward in their occupations. While my work brings joy, my family is what it's all about. My wife, children, and grandchildren, bring me the most joy in my life. There is nothing better than having one of my little grandchildren say "Hi papa while they give me a big hug," Unless it's working with and helping my children do a new project or write that really difficult paper for school or work.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that the doctrines and teachings of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are truly from God and that the leaders of this church hold the priesthood, the power to act for God on earth. I believe that leaders in this church receive inspiration and revelation to direct the church at every level from the president of the church to the teacher of a Sunday school class. I am thankful that my heritage includes early pioneers in the church and that I was raised in the church because I'm not sure that I would have had the faith and courage to listen to the missionaries and make changes in my life if I hadn't been taught about it in my youth. I have learned for my self and witness to the world that Joseph Smith really did go to that grove of trees and had a personal visit from God and his Son, Jesus Christ. I have had witness that the Book of Mormon is true and contains the words of ancient prophets of God. It is a companion to the Bible and provides clarity and testimony of the same gospel of Jesus Christ that is found in the Holy Bible. I have learned from experience that God loves us, his children, and has given us the ability to use his power on this earth through something we call the priesthood. I know that power is real and can help all of God's children on this earth. I believe with all my heart that the Lord directs the use of that power through a living prophet who stands at the head of this church as it's president.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. I try to be friendly and helpful as I live my life. I go to work in the mornings and do my best to do a good job, The thing I like about my job is the opportunity to help other people. Then the best part of the day is coming home to see my family. I get to see my grand kids as they run to the window to say "hi papa." Often my church calling will take me to a meeting or to visit one of my friends who might be sick or need some help of some kind. I love helping people in whatever capacity I can.
