Hi I'm LeRoy

I'm a California farm boy raising my family in Indiana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to garden and cook. I'm a father of five children, three are still at home. I was born in California and raised on a farm, but am raising my family in Indianapolis. I currently work as the physical facility manager at a private school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but I wasn't comfortable following a religion just because my family thought I should. I was encouraged by the odd Mormon concept not to join the church just because someone explained why it was right, but to ask God if it was right. It fascinated me that a church would think enough of the realness of God, or if it made a difference to Him what religion I attended, to actually ask Him, so I did. I understood the dependency of the validity of the Book of Mormon on whether or not Joseph Smith was actually His prophet, In turn that the rest of the Mormon church was His church, in that it contained all the elements of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and its organizational structure, taught and exercised correctly according to God. I prayed, deliberately asking Him if the Book of Mormon was true, that it really was translated under His guidance and was what it claimed to be. The answer I received was very clear and very plan to me. I knew, and still know that God told me that these things are correct and of Him.

How I live my faith

I enjoy finding ways to serve others in the ordinary things I do, whether at work, at home with my family or at church. Finding ways to perform or help a little more than expected or just to do something little thing that make others feel valuable just like I feel valuable to God. As a family we pray together each morning and evening. We spend an hour each Monday teaching each other principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our family's values. I get up over three hours before I have to leave for work to take my teenager to seminary class. I enjoy helping other people to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ as plainly and as clearly as possible.
