Hi I'm Joshua

I was born and raised in Gilbert AZ. I'm single, I DJ & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well growing up I was the only boy out of 5 sisters and four of them being older. I have been an uncle since I was 7 and have lots of nieces and nephews. I grew up dancing doing jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop. I still love to dance any type whether it be hip hop or ballroom dancing of any type. I love to play sports as well especially volleyball which I played in high school. After my mission I was able to coach it as well at the high school I went to, which was awesome. Another hobby of mine is singing, I love to sing and don't mind performing in front of others. I also DJ and DJ just about anything. It's great getting people moving out on the floor and getting them dancing. It's great exercise! I've been to college and going back to soon to finish up my degree. I love being active and getting exercise whether it be running, dancing, playing sports or working out. It just feels good to keep in shape!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but growing up have always felt a need to find out for myself why the gospel is true. One day while camping out in the woods as a teenager I was reading my scriptures and just kept reading. Hours had passed as I kept reading, searching and cross-referencing scriptures. I came across a section of scriptures which led me to my knees to meditate and pray about what I had been reading. As I continued to pray I felt a warmth inside of me and from then on I knew that the Church was true. Yes it was subtle but I knew with all my heart I could not deny the feelings that I felt. Having these feelings prompted me to go out and share the gospel with others. I served a mission in Spokane WA for two years and loved every moment of it. Serving a mission was not easy but the joy and satisfaction of being able to share the gospel with others made it worth it. Being able to see others change and grasp the gospel of Jesus Christ was amazing. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is back upon the earth today and that Christ will come again to visit. I know that Christ atoned for our sins so that we can return to live with him one day. I am grateful for my family, friends and church leaders that I have had and have today for their examples to me. I continue to serve and follow Christ because of what he has done for me so that I can return to live with him someday. I know this Church is true with all my heart, and that we have a living Prophet here upon the earth to guide and direct us. He is inspired and loves everyone of us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is Another Testament of Jesus Christ as a companion scripture to the Bible. I love my Savior and all that He has done for me in my life!

How I live my faith

Going to church is the highlight of my week. I am a Sunday School teacher in my singles ward. I also participate in the choir which is a lot of fun singing. I would rather sing a solo in front of a congregation than give a talk but I do love going to church. I'm always striving to live a Christ-like life so I can be an example to others. Teaching Sunday School is fun because you prepare your lesson and then you give it but you always learn even more from the comments made in class. It's a great calling to have and I love the church because it has a lot to offer. Just reach out there, grab a hold of it, and take it upon yourself to learn about the church!
