Hi I'm Jake

I'm a bullrider, husband, father of three, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a bullriding husband, father of three, in my thirties and I am a mormon. I have always enjoyed adventure and new experiences which explains how I ended up on the top side of a bucking bull. I am a college grad that works in the medical device field and the most important thing in my life is my family. Nothing has brought me more joy and fulfillment than spending time with my wife and children. One of the things that I love most about my church, is the knowledge it gives me that my family can be together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a mormon family by parents that gave me every opportunity in life. My mother worked hard to keep me out of trouble, but occasionally trouble would still find me. I remember feeling the need for a thrill, and sometimes looking in the wrong places to find it. Sadly these choices only left me feeling even emptier inside. I was looking for true joy and happiness that would not fade away. My mind turned to the childhood prayers that I had said along side my mother. I remembered the peace I felt as we knelt together and talked to a loving Father in Heaven. I remembered that He wanted me to always be happy, and I remembered that I could return to this peaceful and happy life if I would turn my life over to Jesus Christ. It has been a long and at times difficult road. It is a road that I have stumbled along more than once, but everyday I feel closer to my Heavenly Father, and I am able to keep that wonderfully fulfilling feeling of peace with me all day. When I ride a 1,600 pound bull it gets my heart pumping and my adrenaline flowing. It is really and exhilarating experience, but nothing competes with the amazing feeling I received from knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father, and that he sent his Son to be my Savior and redeemer. The weight of the decisions of my past no longer bogs me down, now I feel free and happy to have a relationship with the Lord. I love Him, and I know he loves me. I know that he loves everyone of us, and that means he loves you too. He will bring you the peace that you are looking for in your life the same way he brought enduring peace to mine.

How I live my faith

Now my love for the Lord is expressed by service to others. I have been given the opportunity to know hundreds of people in my community. These friendships provide me with an opportunity to help others in times of need. Occasionally I am able to work in the yards of the widows in my neighborhood letting them know that they are not forgotten, and that someone loves them. I have assisted many in the neighborhood as they moved in or out and made their burden lighter. I have cried with those that morn, and I have laughed with those that rejoice. I have worked side by side the people that have become my best friends as we build a better community for our children, and labored to bless the lives of others the way the Lord has blessed my life. Life is too short not to share it, and life is too hard not to have help. That is what I love about my church, it gives me a community where I can truly make a difference, and that brings greater meaning to my life.
