Hi I'm Rita

I'm a Mormon and proud of it. I was born a Mormon. I grew up in Tooele, Utah. My parents were Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a common, average person who likes many things. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, traveling, visiting places. I am very musical and love music in all aspects. I sing, play the piano and enjoy listening to good music. I'm a mom and have 3 wonderful kids who are adopted from Guatemala and China. I've been on an LDS mission to Denmark. I work part-time as a medical transcriptionist for the last 15 years. I used to work for the government but quit as I wanted to stay home to be with my kids. I am currently married to my husband going on 20 years now. It has been wonderful, and the kids are wonderful, too! I love them as if I would have borne them myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon first because I was born into the church and baptized at age 8, but I'm mostly a Mormon because I firmly believe in the Mormon teachings and know them to be true. They are my whole life. I believe even though you might be born into the church, you still have to be converted which is what happened to me and happened very deeply on my mission as if a book was opened in front of my face and suddenly I understood the meaning of life, salvation, etc., and what I needed to do to live forever with my Heavenly Father and my family! My testimony is my perspective on life, why I live the way I do, believe, and molds every step I take in life. I want to live again with Heavenly Father and that gives me meaning for what I do each day I am alive, and I know that I can be with my family again forever and not separated from them after death. What a wonderful promise for all of us if we choose the right path and make the right decisions!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each and every day. Every waking moment is garnered towards what I believe. I try to be a good example to others in living the way I believe. I serve in the Church where I am asked without pay and totally enjoy it. Sure, sometimes it is difficult finding the time and the energy, but it is what I live for!! I can't think of anything more beautiful than serving others and making others' lives better in some small way. I have taught mostly in the program for young children. Right now, I help out with the nursery, and even though it gets hectic, I realize how very important it is that these sweet, young children are taught early in their lives, the earlier the better, as they learn things about Heavenly Father's plan that can stay with him throughout their lives. I have a firm testimony about visitiing teaching. You have an opportunity to reach the ONE, and the effects can be far reaching. For some people in the church, this is the only contact they have with the church. Later on, it may have been visiting teaching that brought them back to activity in the church if they had strayed earlier or gone inactive. My dress is modest. My language is clean. I am morally clean.
