Hi I'm Aaron

I'm 6'8'' and am a former college basketball player. I am a police officer, I have a beautiful family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 42 years old, I have a beautiful wife, and four wonderful children. I have been married for 20 years and love my job. I have been a police officer for 15 years, and I'm currently assigned to the AZ House of Representatives. I love playing sports, all things outdoors (especially camping), and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my entire life. I was raised by parents who taught me the gospel and the things I should do. Even as a child I knew there was something different about the things I was learning in church. As I got older I began to develop a testimony of my own and loved how going to church made me feel. When I was about 15 years old I knew that the church was true and wanted to share it with everyone. I knew that I wanted to serve as a missionary and serve the Lord for two years in his service. I was called to serve in the Japan Tokyo South Mission at the age of 19, and I fell in love with the people there. My testimony grew stronger as I served the Lord and shared His gospel. I returned home and continued going to college on a basketball scholarship. I met a girl while attending LDS institute and immediately knew this was the girl I was to marry. We got married in 1998 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. We have been happily married for 20 years, and have four wonderful children. I am so grateful the knowledge that I will be able to live with my family forever and that death is not the end. I am thankful for Joseph Smith and know that he saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that through him the gospel was restored, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and know that through him we will be able to, once again, live with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. I am thankful to my family and love them with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our church working with our young men. Boy Scouts is a very important part in our church and we encourage our young men to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. We believe scouting to be the "activity arm" of the priesthood and the values that are taught in scouting go hand in hand with the values taught in priesthood. Values of being honest and true, trustworthy and loyal, showing respect to women and girls and children, fulfilling priesthood callings and doing our best. The youth of today are the future leaders of the church. Satan is unleashing all in his power to tear down and destroy our youth by disguising evil and making it look fun or popular. I truly cherish the time I get to spend with the youth and share with them my testimony and let them know how important they are.
