Hi I'm Pat

I'm a retired school teacher, a mom, a step-mom, and a grandmother. I love teaching, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom and a step mom. I have four eagle scout sons and four awesome daughters. My favorite family tradition is playing softball to celebrate my husband's birthday each year. This is followed by lots of good eating, humor and board games. My hobbies include scrapbooking, quilt making and online Scrabble! I am a retired school teacher and cherish the years I spent working with children. I loved their enthusiasm and watching them increase in confidence as they mastered new skills. I especially enjoyed teaching math and critical thinking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is a way of life that brings me safety, peace, and great joy. It is my personal relationship with each member of the Godhead that directs the daily actions of my life. God, is the father of my spirit. He loves me, and I love him. I can pray to him anytime, anywhere, and know that he will direct my path. Jesus Christ is my savior and teacher. I celebrate his Holy birth at Christmas time, and love singing Handel's Messiah in His honor. I celebrate Easter, and am constantly amazed at how much love Jesus offers me. The Holy Ghost, referred to many of my friends as the Holy Spirit, bears witness of truth, prompts my thoughts and brings comfort in times of sorrow. This occurs through a peaceful feeling and warm burning in my heart.

How I live my faith

There is no paid ministry in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...(Mormons.) Members have the opportunity to serve and help each other. Because of this, I have learned to speak in front of large audiences, learned how to conduct meetings, I have directed a choir, taught Sunday School, and cared for children ages 18 months to 3 years in a Sunday nursery. However, over the years the most frequent place I have volunteered has been with young women ages 12 to 18. I have spent many summers hiking and camping in beautiful mountains throughout Arizona at summer girl's camps. These are cherished experiences where I have loved the beautiful sounds, sights, and smells of nature. Currently I am preparing to go with my husband to West Virginia for a period of 23 months. We will serve a couples mission and volunteer our time and energy and share our testimonies with people there. This has been a dream for us for 35 years.
