Hi I'm John

I'm a father of two, husband to one and a total film junkie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

With two kids (full of energy), a wonderful wife (photographer) and a full-time job (so lucky), life can be extremely busy/stressful around our house. Yet, we never forget to remember our Father in Heaven and all that he's blessed us with.

Why I am a Mormon

The simplicity of what the Gospel teaches resonates with me unlike anything else. I am a child of God, as is everyone else on earth. It's wonderful to know that He loves us and wants us all to progress by refining our spirits and mastering our physical appetites. To me, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is like "kung fu", with the ultimate "human achievement" being the alignment of our wants and desires with His. All of the other details are a means to an end, with the greatest of those details being the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ, by which He provided a way for all of God's children (sinners we be) a way to overcome sin and the physical death we will inevitably experience. The knowledge of God's plan for us all gives me the eternal perspective I need to overcome the many challenges that this earthly life will bring.

How I live my faith

Weekly church meetings give me an opportunity to reflect on my activities throughout the previous week and find ways that I can continue to improve myself. Scripture study and prayer are essential, and help provide the perspective I need to find joy in this life.
