Hi I'm Sarah Porter

I grew up in L.A., California. I am a mother of 9 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arcadia, California. My family was Mormon, but I was one of the only members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my High School. I attended BYU Idaho. I meet my husband when I was 16. We were married after he served a mission for the church, and I attended collage. My biggest education has been my children. We have been married for 15 years and in about 6 weeks will have our 8th and 9th child. My hobbies are taking pride in watching the accomplishments of my children and supporting them in there endeavors. I have always wanted to be a mom, 9 kids weren't in the plan but I am happy that it has come to that. When, I am questioned by people that I am so young with all these children, I smile. There is nothing that brings me more happiness then being a mom and being able to share my life with them. They make me laugh and cry at the same time. I learn every day what it takes to be a mom in these latter days.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it has brought me true happiness in my life. As i mentioned, I was the one of the only members growing up in my High School. That is were my testimony began. As I watched others in my high school and as I watch them now, not having a purpose in life or trying to find one has made my testimony grow. I have leaned that I am a daughter of my Heavenly father, who loves me. There is a plan for me and my family. As I go through day to day life teaching my children in this world today and seeing all the negative things happening, it gives me strength to know that there is life after death, that i can live with my family forever, that there is a plan for me. As trails come our Heavenly Father will lift us through our trials. Knowing my savior paid the ultimate price for my sins and sorrows gives me strength everyday to become a better person and to handle things differently. I know my Savior lives and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by being a mom. I teach my children and do activities everyday for ex. scripture study to let my family have those experiences to gain a testimony of the church. In my ward I just got released from serving over the children of our ward. To be honest, when I got this responsibility, having 7 children at the time seemed a little overwhelming. I learned to love those children as my own. As I serve in the church no matter what calling I am blessed everyday I have seen it in action. Teaching the children helped me learn that perfect faith we should have everyday. The children never second guess things, they have that perfect "faith" I strive for everyday.
