Hi I'm Len

I grew up in Kansas. I served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years as a pilot and security officer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a father of 5 sons, and a grandfather of 12 great kids. I graduated from college in Political Science and I hold a Masters degree in International Relations. I am a student of the American Civil War and I can't remember a time that I wasn't reading a book. I served my country in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot in Special Operations.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a religious Protestant family. I had read the Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments) by the time I was 15. At 19 a "friend" introduced me to Mormon beliefs. I wore out more than a few sets of missionaries with my questions. First the doctrines of the Church made sense to me. They answered a lot of the questions I had of my faith in Jesus. Slowly, I began to understand through the "Still small voice" of the Holy Ghost that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was true. I joined the Church, married that "friend", and started a family. Thirteen years later my formally Anti-Mormon parents joined the Church and my sister followed a few years later. I have participated in the Church in far flung places, Germany, England, Philipines, Korea, etc.

How I live my faith

I enjoy teaching the 10 & 11 year old children in their scripture study class. The kids have such a great desire for knowledge about the Savior. I visit some widows regularly and help with their needs. They appreciate having someone help them keep their homes in good order. I love the social events in the Church and participate any time I can.
