Hi I'm Chris

I'm a husband and a father. I own and run a small construction company with my brother. I love Transformers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in a military family, I have had the opportunity to move around quite a bit in my youth - California, Alabama, the Netherlands, and Washington to name a few. From 2000-2002 I served a mission in the wonderful country of Brazil. In 2008, I moved my wife and kids down to Costa Rica for a year. I consider it a great blessing in my life to have lived in so many different places and to have met so many wonderful people. The experiences that I've had and the things that I've learned have certainly helped shape who I am. Besides our year away in Costa Rica, my wife and I have made Nebraska our home. We love it here and will probably be "Nebraskans" for the rest of our life. My wife and I have been married since 2003 and have three wonderful children. As a family, we enjoy taking walks, playing basketball outside, going out to get ice cream, and watching movies on Friday nights. I love my family dearly and they are truly the greatest blessing in my life. If I'm not spending time with my family then it probably means I'm at work. With my brother, I own a small construction company and we specialize in building decks. We enjoy our work and take pride in what we do. There is something satisfying about being outside and working by the sweat of our brow. Well, that's me in a nutshell - I'm grateful for my job, I love my family, and I appreciate all the experiences that I've had in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon simply because I know that God exists and loves us - his children. I know that because of His love for us that God has prepared a plan for us. Through this plan we can have joy, happiness, hope, & peace and we can learn how to be more like our perfect, loving Heavenly Father. This earth-life is just a small part of God's plan, but a very crucial part as the rest of our eternal existence is based off of our faithfulness here. With so much at stake here in mortality, our loving Father has not left us without help. The scriptures, the commandments, the Holy Ghost, living prophets, the priesthood, prayer, and the gift of His Son - Jesus Christ were all provided by God so that we might stay close to Him and thus receive his guidance and help. I'm a Mormon because I believe in God, in His perfect plan, and that he reveals these truths to us through his holy prophets even in our day.

How I live my faith

Both my wife and I are actively involved in our church. In fact, all members help in some capacity or another. I'm currently asked to help in the Sunday School program. Learning the teachings of Jesus Christ, I believe, is one of the most important things we can do in becoming true disciples. As we learn more about Christ and the principles He taught our understanding of His mission and His role in our lives grows and with it our desire to become more like Him. I am so grateful to have the Bible and the Book of Mormon, as well as the teachings of modern prophets, in my life. I find so much joy, peace, comfort, strength, and guidance as I study Jesus Christ's teachings and it's my priviledge to serve in a capacity where I can help others feel the same. By far, however, the most important thing that I do on a day to day basis is being a husband and a father. I recognize that Heavenly Father has blessed me with a wonderful family and in turn has asked me to be the best teacher, companion, provider, and example that I can be for them. With my wife, I have the responsibility to help build the foundation our children need in this world to become good, honest, charitable, and wise people. As my wife and I strive to achieve that end, we also will continue to learn and grow and be more valuable in the service we offer in our church and community.
