Hi I'm Tricia

I love my husband and family. I love music, art and dancing. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 5 beautiful children. I love my family and I love being a mom. My whole life I wanted to be a mother and I feel joy in the crazy schedule of 5 busy kids. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Humanities and Art History and I love to share the beautiful things I learn with my family and community. I teach art in my kid’s schools and am enjoying learning to play the violin. I love Classical music, date night with my husband, traveling, the beautiful blue eggs my chickens lay, wide brimmed hats, happy children and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it’s teachings bring me peace, direction in life and an explanation for the things that I know to be true. I know that no matter where I go in the world, it’s teachings are the same. I’ve been to church in Paris, New York, Guatemala City, Florida and Arizona and it comforts me to find the teachings of the church never change. The people are different. The language is different. But the truths are the same. Thru the teachings of Jesus, I find a reason and a meaning in things that are hard to understand and even harder to explain. In understanding the plan my Heavenly Father has for me, I find a purpose that guides my actions and decisions. And I find the strength I need to guide my children so they can be believers in Jesus Christ as well. With so much distraction in the world, I love that the teachings of Christ bring me constantly back to what is true and what is truly important.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve others. Serving others always feels great to me- though I always get much more out of it than the person I am serving. I think being involved in my congregation and my community helps me feel needed and provides me those opportunities to serve. I have participated in my congregation and community by being a den leader for a church sponsored Cub Scout den. There is truly nothing better than doing fun scouting activities with a bunch of cute, energetic, stinky little boys. They are awesome. I have also enjoyed helping in ‘Primary’ which is the children’s organization where we teach the gospel to children 18 months to 12 years old. I enjoy teaching about the Savior and getting to teach children is especially rewarding. I am thankful that there are no prequalifications to serve in the church since the callings (or jobs) I have enjoyed the most have been the ones for which I was least qualified. I have enjoyed learning to do new things and stretching to become what the Lord knows I can become. My new “favorite” thing I do at church is sing in the choir. I cannot read music and am not a good singer at all and yet I am able to participate and the music truly touches me. Singing about the Savior is a unique way to worship that I wish I would have discovered before now.
