Hi I'm David. I love jeeps!

I am the husband of my wife of 36 years. I have 5 children and 13 grand kids. I love off-roading and I'm a Mormon! .

About Me

I am a real estate appraiser and have been appraising houses for 33 years. I am married to the same wonderful woman for 36 years and have 5 adult children with 13 grand kids. I have to say that my family is my life. I love off-roading. I have a Jeep Rubicon and several Quads. I like to camp and play with my toys. I love to fish but don't get to fish enough. I love small town life. I have lived in the same small town 35 years. I have coached little league baseball and girls soft ball. I use to help coach at the high school for boys basketball. I still love to watch high school and college football. I have lived in the same house for 35 years and it has grown like my family. I like to garden and take care of my yard. You would think that I would be tired of appraising houses for so many years but I love the challenge.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I was born into a Mormon family and the teachings of the Mormon Church are what I am. I have not always felt this way. When I was young I thought the teachings of the Mormon Church were restrictive and held me back from having fun. The older I have become the more I have realized that the teachings of the Mormon Church have actually made me free from things that would have brought great pain and sorrow into my life. I believe in God the Father and in his Son Jesus Christ. They are real. I have felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost burn these truths into my heart. I love the scriptures. It is in the scriptures that I can find the teachings that keep my heart soft and in tune with the spirit of the Holy Ghost. I have read the Book of Mormon. It is the Word of God, a testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of God’s dealings with a group of peoples on this the American continent. It was translated by Joseph Smith by the hand of God so we can have it as an extra help in today's world of trials. I know these things are true because I have felt a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that they are true. Of these things I cannot deny.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the Mormon Church for two years in the central section of the U.S. I have served in many different capacities in the Mormon Church but my favorite service has been to the youth of the Mormon Church. I currently serve as a Bishop to a congregation of some 400 people. This is a very rewarding type of service. I love the service I do now, and feel like it is helping me grow in ways I did not know I could. I love to search the scriptures and feel the power that comes from study in the scriptures. I wish I could share the feelings of peace and well-being I have when I am in the service of the Lord!

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

David. I love jeeps!
The "Word of Wisdom" is the Lord blessing to us of health. It also shows, when we obey, that we love the Lord enough to do the simple things that He has asked us to do. There are great blessings attached to the Word of Wisdom. The one most attributed to the Word of Wisdom is that of health. The greater blessings are those of a spiritual nature. The Lord has always set his children apart from the world and this is one way that "Mormons" are different from the world. I personally feel the blessings of the Word of Wisdom in my personal health but more so in my ability to feel spiritual things. I would not give up those two blessing for any physical things. They are most special to me. We do not believe in taking into our bodies things that are harmful or addictive. This is basically the Word of Wisdom and it’s blessings to us. The Word of Wisdom can be applied to even the weakest of His children. We do, however, believe in prescription medication under the direction of a qualified medical professional. Show more Show less
