Hi I'm Brian

I try to balance my life as an attorney and a dad and husband. I help coach sports, attend recitals and go to court. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I learned early on about hard work. I started a landscaping business at the age of 11 by pushing a lawnmower several blocks down the street to mow a single lawn for $5.00 a week. My business grew and I was eventually able to earn my bachelors degree without going into debt while running my business on the weekends. After finishing my undergraduate degree in international business I decided to continue with my schooling and I obtained my law degree three years later. My wife and I moved away from our families after I finished law school and we have been in Arizona ever since. It's hard to be away from our extended families, but we have grown so much closer to our own little family over these last 11 years. I enjoy my work and consider it to be a means to an end, with the end being able to provide for my wife and kids so I can spend as much time with them as possible. I love being married, and I love my 3 kids. All I do seems to be centered around them. I grew up playing football, baseball, soccer, basketball and volleyball, and now I have fun watching my kids experience the joy that can come from playing sports or pursuing other activities. I love reading books that I want to read, not that I have to read. I also like going to a good movie and eating popcorn.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in Arizona, but raised in Utah around many other Mormons. Around 9th grade I started wondering why I believed the way I did. At that point I had friends of different faiths and I started questioning my own beliefs. I began praying sincerely to know if what I had learned growing up about my Savior Jesus Christ and His Gospel was truth or fiction. Did he really suffer for my sins? Did he die for me? Was there really a prophet on the earth today as there was during biblical times? Where did I fall in to His overall plan? I learned for myself during those next few years of high school that the things I had learned growing up brought peace to my life. I had challenges growing up (and still do) just like we all do, but living the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope and makes the challenges bearable. In short, being a Mormon brings me happiness in this life, and provides me with the faith and hope that the happiness will extend to the next life as well.

How I live my faith

The way I live my Faith stems from what I learned at an early age from my parents about service and love. My parents showed me unconditional love and showed me through example the importance of serving those around them. I strive to do the same. I try to live my life in a way that my Savior would be proud of me if He were by my side. Then when I fall short as I inevitably do, I pick myself up and try again. I sincerely believe Christ’s teaching that love of God is the first and great commandment and love of neighbor is like unto it.

What is being a Mormon like?

Brian
I've been Mormon all my life, so it is a part of who I am. Sometimes it can be hard because we may be misunderstood. But living the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness and peace. I mean deep down peace. Even though my life isn't perfect and I still have challenges, I have the strength cope with the challenges because of the things I have learned as a Mormon.
