Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a secretary at a music school. I'm a college student, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to travel! I have been able to visit South Korea, the Philippines, and Japan. Someday I would like to go to Canada, Mexico, and Finland. I love music. I grew up playing the piano but since I got married I haven't had as much time to practice. I've been married for 5 years now! My husband and I got married in the Spokane temple. We now have 2 children. A 3 year old and a 1 year old. When we can, we like to go to Kindermusik, take walks, and go to the park. I love to exercise! I'm currently into the Turbo Jam workout. I'm a secretary at local music school that my brother and sister-in-law own, and I'm a college student. I don't know how long it is going to take me to finish, but someday I am going to be a Dental Hygienist! Other things I like to do include playing volleyball (the best sport ever), scrapbooking, and sewing. I have so many different projects I need to finish - just need to find the time! Oh - and I'm currently trying to learn spanish...

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. The reason why I have chosen to stay with the church is because I know that it is the true church. I turned to the Lord in prayer and asked Heavenly Father if it was true, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God. I can't explain how I felt when I was finished praying. I felt...happy - I was overcome with the spirit - I really can't explain it, but I knew that it was the Spirit telling me that yes, it was all true. Since then I have had many experiences that have further strengthened my testimony of the gospel. Heavenly Father always answers my prayers. When I ask for help, I have always received it. When I have a question, He always answers it. When I follow the gospel principles I am happy and my family is happy. I can't imagine a happier life without the gospel - I know that it is true, and that is why I am a member of His church.

How I live my faith

I am the ward music chairman and the ward chorister. This means that I get to plan and conduct the music for Sunday meetings. It is really an interesting experience when I'm picking a song. I read through the hymns and wait for the spirit to tell me which ones to choose. I love it when the spirit helps me with my calling, and then I go to church on Sunday and realize how well the music fits in with he rest of the meeting. I also visit teach a handful of wonderful sisters. I try to visit them at least once a month, see how they're doing, and help them out if they need me. Another thing (one of my favorites) is that I am apart of the ward choir! My voice isn't amazing, but I love every practice, the people I sing with, and I enjoy it every time we get to sing in a Sunday meeting.
