Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a full-time wife and mother. I grew up in very small town and now live in a large city. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very small town in Rural Utah. Now, living in a city, I try to bring some of the things I learned growing up and incorporate it in my "city life" raising a family. I love planting and taking care of my garden and flowers. Working in my yard outside is my stress free time. I also love to create cards and scrapbooking pages. I have three beautiful children who keep me busy and love to help me in all my projects.

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the church since the early pioneers in Nauvoo IL. I grew up listening to the stories of these brave ancestors crossing the plains, enduring countless hardships and helping to settle Utah. These stories have always brought me strength in searching out good things and holding true to all they did to give me so many opportunities. When I was about 14 I decided that I really wanted a testimony of my own and not to rely so strongly on my family. I was just starting High School and had also just started Seminary classes. We were studying the Doctrine and Covenants that year and we had begun by going through the Joseph Smith History. It was during our personal reading time that I read Joseph's personal account of the First Vision. I felt such an overwhelming peace and comfort and joy that I knew what I was reading was true and Joseph Smith was a prophet. I was reassured that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ brought to us in the latter-days.

How I live my faith

I try to live my Faith everyday. I've learned that sometimes just the smallest acts of kindness can be the biggest gifts needed in a persons life. I don't limit my kindness or service opportunities to just those in my same religion. I reach out to my neighbors and friends not of my faith and love them just the same. I do have a responsibility every Sunday to help teach and watch after the children ages 18 months to 3 years. I wasn't so sure about being called to this position, but I had faith that that is where I need to be and I have learned so much from those sweet, special little children every Sunday; my testimony is strengthened weekly.
