Hi I'm Norma

I grew up in southern Arizona, I'm a mother and grandmother and I like English literature and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a homemaker and love to ride my bike past the cottonfields and homes in my rural community. I have five children a wonderful husband and 15 grandchildren. I love to read and I have a garden.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mother was a member of the LDS church, my Dad was from and Irish Catholic family. I'm grateful for Mother's teachings and recognized the truth that is in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The first time I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, a warm feeling flooded my soul and I knew that it was true. It continues to bring me comfort, strength, courage, hope and success through life's ups and donwns. Having a living prophet is also a great comfort, It just makes sense that God would not leave us without a living prophet. The promise of eternal families makes me happy. My husband and I have been married for 39 years but it isn't enough. I'm glad we have the promise of forever.

How I live my faith

I work with Cub Scouts. I'm responsible for making sure the den leaders and cub masters and other committee members have all the necessary training to serve the boys from 8-10 years of age in our Pack. I've already raised my sons but it is a thrill to serve these boys and the rewards of wathcing them participate in scouting activities makes me smile. In addition to this service I live my life trying to follow the Saviors example. His ways bring peace and joy to my life. Understanding His sacrifice is hard but I have experienced the love that comes when I try to be obedient. I know he wants us to be with Him again and that requires some effort, repentance and lots more effort but life is sweet knowing that it is possible and that He is patient brings lots of hope.
