Hi I'm Dixie

I tutored high school students and then studied public policy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love teaching my daughter about sports by brining her with me to my volleyball games and gym work-outs. One of my favorite things to watch is my husband and daughter laughing and playing together. There is little more satisfying than being able to check off something on my to-do or goals lists.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happy when I follow the teachings of Christ. The difficulties in my life seem surmountable when I ask God for help and then follow the pattern He has established. I have seen the joy and meaning that come into a person's life when they choose to follow the words that Christ taught us in the scriptures and that He continues to teach us through His prophets.

How I live my faith

Last night I went to "Back to School" activity for the young women that I teach. The leaders were asked to share funny stories from when they were in high school, when and what their first date was, their favorite movies and styles. We were also asked to share what struggles we had in high school and how we overcame those challenges. For the first time in many years, I thought about my high school years and realized how much I have learned and grown from that time til now. I am happy and it is because I work hard every day to live by the principles I believe and am taught. I live my faith in the small ways like praying, teaching the young women, reading the scriptures, serving my husband, strengthening the relationships with my brothers and sisters, and going to church. I do a little a lot.
