Hi I'm Eric

I'm a GIS Programmer Analyst. I love maps and the outdoors. I'm an avid Scouter. I'm a husband and a father of 2. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I consider myself a good ol farmboy who is now working in the IT industry. I grew up on a wheat farm in Southern Idaho and I love the outdoors. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and I'm currently working on my Master's Degree in Natural Resources. Basically I make maps, work with GPS and am learning more and more about the outdoors. I'm a father of two wonderful children and my wife is my best friend. I'm currently a Scout Master and I have 5 boys in my troop and we're always looking for more. I've always loved playing sports and just being active.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so that is the way I was raised. I'm so grateful for that now and I wouldn't change it for the world. I served a mission when I was 19 and I loved sharing joy and happiness with others. I loved seeing the change in their lives when they found the gospel and started living it. One thing that I found hard on my mission was that I didn't a grand story to tell people about how I knew the church was true. After a lot of study and prayer, I came to realize that I had just always known. The Lord has shown me throughout my life and reaffirmed time and time again that it is true. This came as a great comfort to me and has helped me a lot. In order to know the church is true, one doesn't have to have one huge experience, but just look back throughout your life and recognize all the ways the Lord has blessed you. This is what I did and I know the church is true. The Holy Ghost has born witness to my heart and soul that the Lord has a plan for me and my family. I can't wait to return and live with him again some day. I know God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are all members of the Godhead and they are watching out for each one of us.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my community. I actually just signed up to help in a United Way project that is coming up. I really enjoy helping others. One of the main ways that I feel I am service to others is through Boy Scouts. I love spending time with the youth and teaching them morals and good principles. It is amazing to see them grow, not only in Scouts, but in their love for the Lord as well. I also get the opportunity each month to visit four families and share a message with them. I have been given so much it is great to be able to in turn give to others and try to be more like Jesus. He is my example and brother and try to make choices that he would make.
