Hi I'm Steve

I am a graduate student studying school psychology, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in the Ph.D. program studying school psychology. I also teach at the University. Teaching psychology is very enjoyable because it is found in our everyday lives. For recreation I like to read and play video games. Recently my wife found an Xbox in the dumpster, so I've been having fun with that.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and so it's teachings were salient in my life. However, there came that time in which I needed to know if this faith was the faith for me. I embarked on a quest to discover other religions and learn more about them. It was amazing that as I paid attention to their respective doctrines, it was my feelings and not my brain that really led me. These feelings kept leading me back to mormonism, and I realized that this was the church for me. I continually get reaffirmations that I am on the right path. The happiness and peace I feel come directly from living the principles of my faith. My feelings have not indicated that there is another religion for me, and I know they're right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day. I am not a person who remembers god on sunday and then forgets him for the next 6 days. I try to check my words and actions to make sure that they uplift and not hurt others. There are times when I fail, but the great thing is that I can pick myself up and do better the next time. And I will do better the next time.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Steve
I firmly believe that husband and wife can be together forever. Families are extremely important, so much so that Heavenly Father has put into place a way for us to be with our families even after death. It would be hard to consider it heaven without my wife there. Show more Show less
